You will collaborate with project teams to develop specifications, client-specific masters, and support project teams with submittal review. Your expertise in building materials, codes, and industry standards will shape the quality and consistency of projects firmwide.
Requirements
- Preferred equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
- Preferred minimum of 15 years of experience within the field of Architecture or Interior Design with at least 5 years of writing specifications.
- Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Extensive experience in construction and construction materials.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the use of MasterSpec, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
- The ability to speak (public speaking) in front of small to large groups of people is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Based on information provided by the Management Teams prepare comprehensive project manuals.
- Suggest alternate solutions when necessary.
- For complex projects, schedule periodic reviews during the development of documents.
- Review comments with the Management Team and respond to any questions or concerns.
- Take a mentorship approach when dealing with junior staff members.
- Stay knowledgeable about products and industry standards and trends.
- Be a general resource to the company in answering technical questions or providing opinions.
