About The Position

Bluegrass Community Hospital is seeking a Speech Therapist to evaluate and treat patient populations for swallowing, speech-language, and therapy needs. The position is PRN (as needed) and involves working in a critical access hospital that offers a broad range of inpatient, surgical, emergency, and diagnostic services.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology Required.
• Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with KY Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
• Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.
