About The Position
Total Spectrum’s Speech and Language Therapy is uniquely designed to incorporate an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach to speech and language services in order to assist individuals with autism in their development as communicators. Speech and language therapy is individually tailored to help those with autism be successful in the areas of language, speech, fluency and the social use of language. Total Spectrum’s Speech and Language Therapy provides 1:1, direct treatment and evaluations in the following areas: articulation, phonology, fluency, receptive language, expressive language, pragmatic/social language. These individuals work in collaboration with other BCBAs to create and implement an individualized program to enable each child to use and develop effective communication and social skills.$5k sign-on bonus!
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required
- License to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or must obtain license by time of hire)
- Clinical Fellows are welcome apply
- Experience working with children with autism
- Ability to train others
- Strong verbal and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience using AAC is preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and provide direct treatment to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders in one-on-one and group therapy
- Actively collaborates with established and newly formed Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming teams (including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and trained Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to support center-based and/or home-based services.
- An appropriately matched candidate will be a Speech Language Pathologist who is behaviorally-minded and open to developing, implementing, and evaluating interventions in all areas related to Speech-Language Pathology while working closely with professionals of other backgrounds (including but not limited to BCBAs)
- Must hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), or be eligible for the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and hold state license or temporary state license via IDFPR
- A behaviorally minded SLP shares a commitment to the following ideals: Evidence-based practice (EBP), Data based decision making, Individualized instruction, Generalization and Constantly seeking a client’s positive consequences/effective reinforcement
- Address deficits in articulation, phonology, fluency, receptive language, expressive language, pragmatic/social language
- Develop functional communication goals
- Consult and make recommendations with BCBAs and families with results of evaluations, treatment, and progress
- Provide recommendations and support for AAC devices as needed
- Monitor speech goal progress of clients in collaboration with ABA and Counseling teams
- Participate in family treatment guidance (parent/caretaker) meetings as needed
- Complete speech session, daily notes, progress notes, assessments, and reassessment reports in a timely manner
- Provides consultative support to ABA and Counseling teams as needed
- Monitor billable hours weekly and report changes
- Maintenance of all required credentials and licensing
