About The Position

To provide speech and language intervention services to identified students. This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. Requirements

• Current licensure as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Arizona.
• Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

Nice To Haves

• Hearing Handicapped certification and Sign Language desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement intervention programs to remediate deficit speech/language skills of identified students.
• Conduct speech and language screenings.
• Conduct speech, language therapeutic programs in accord with instructional plans.
• Act as advisor to teachers regarding speech and language disorders.
• Progress monitor students and give input as to progress and needs to support student mastery of IEP goals.
• Provide in-service information to staff.
• Conducts daily/weekly schedule effectively.
• Demonstrate knowledge of State and Federal special education rules and regulations and how they impact District procedures and policies.
• Continue professional growth through involvement in course work, in-service, and participation in professional conferences appropriate to the field of speech and language therapy.
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
