About The Position

As a Speech Pathologist / ELL Workshop Facilitator, you’ll play a critical role in supporting educators who serve multilingual learners with diverse language and communication needs. Through high-quality professional learning experiences, you will help educators strengthen instruction for students who are both actively acquiring English and navigating speech or language disabilities. Your expertise will directly influence educator practice and improve outcomes for students with complex language profiles. This is a remote, part time, project based role. While the majority of services will be delivered virtually, some travel (approximately 10-20%) for key in-person facilitations is also expected. Requirements

  • Current or recent clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or closely related role) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with English Language Learners, including students who are simultaneously acquiring English and receiving speech or language services.
  • Deep understanding of language development, speech and language disorders, and culturally and linguistically responsive practices.
  • Comfort providing direct, actionable guidance to educators serving students with mixed language profiles.
  • Demonstrated success facilitating interactive workshops for adult learners, both in person and virtually.
  • High energy, enthusiasm for the craft of teaching and learning, and a passion for educator growth.
  • Strong presence in front of groups and the ability to read a room, adjust pacing, and maintain engagement.
  • Tech-savviness and comfort navigating Zoom, Google tools, virtual collaboration platforms, and digital materials.
  • A growth mindset and openness to feedback.
  • A self-starter attitude, reliability, timeliness, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate high-quality professional learning sessions for educators serving multilingual learners, including students with speech and language disabilities.
  • Provide clear, specific instructional guidance to educators supporting students who are both English Language Learners and actively acquiring English proficiency.
  • Help educators distinguish between language difference and language disorder, and apply that understanding to instructional and intervention decisions.
  • Translate clinical speech-language expertise into practical, classroom-relevant strategies educators can apply immediately.
  • Create learning environments, virtual or in person, where educators feel supported, challenged, and confident applying new approaches.
  • Build connections quickly, turning groups of educators into collaborative learning communities.
  • Lean into your love of teaching adults, modeling the same instructional moves we want educators to use with students.
  • Navigate virtual and in-person dynamics with confidence, curiosity, and flexibility.
  • Represent EdConnective with professionalism, warmth, and genuine enthusiasm for educator growth.
