The Spokane Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of concrete block plant operations, including safety, production, quality, maintenance, inventory, and team performance. This role is accountable for delivering operational results aligned with company goals while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, sound decision-making, and the ability to effectively lead and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in concrete or related industry
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a plant environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of production equipment, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and maintenance programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and drive results
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and production software
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and working around machinery
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to safely operate around moving equipment and respond to operational conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience operating and maintaining Tiger concrete block-making machines or similar automated concrete production machinery preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and training

Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
  • Oversee daily plant operations to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets
  • Plan and manage production schedules, staffing, and resources to meet customer demand
  • Ensure product quality standards are consistently met or exceeded
  • Direct maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and preventative maintenance programs
  • Manage raw materials, inventory levels, and ordering to support uninterrupted operations
  • Monitor key performance metrics and implement improvements to drive operational efficiency
  • Lead, coach, and develop plant employees, including hiring, training, performance management, and engagement
  • Collaborate with leadership on capital improvements, process enhancements, and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure accurate production reporting, inventory management, and payroll/timekeeping approvals
