About The Position

The Spot Sprayer primarily sprays to maintain fields free from weeds, pests, etc. and assist the farm manager with general farm labor tasks such as field cleaning, preparation, and planting, preparing sod trays, cleaning, sweeping the shop, and more as assigned. Requirements

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment.
• Experience operating spot sprayer equipment
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and regulations and use PPE appropriately.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
• Knowledge of herbicides and pesticides and their application preferred.

Responsibilities

• Spray to maintain fields free from weeds, pests, etc.
• Operate and maintain spot sprayer equipment.
• Accurately mix pesticides and keep equipment clean and operational.
• Attend monthly safety meeting and follow all safety guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain areas free of weeds including the office, greenhouse, buildings, fence lines, canals, etc.
• Survey fields to selectively spray problem weeds such as torpedo grass, signal grass, bermudagrass, sprangle top, etc.
• Always use appropriate PPE (Safety glasses/goggles, head socks, respirator, gloves, coveralls, face mask/shield, ear plugs, etc.)
• Assist farm manager with general farm labor tasks such as field cleaning, preparation and planting, preparing sod trays, cleaning/sweeping shop, etc.
