About The Position

JOB: Shuttle driver/Spotter DEPARTMENT: Distribution/Receiving RATE OF PAY: 22.97-26.57 In addition to the following, employees are responsible for understanding the relevance and importance of the individual’s activities in contributing to food safety, and reporting situations that may impact food STATEMENT OF THE JOB: The employee's responsibilities include: learning all distribution's major job functions including loading/unloading, spotting semi-trailers and acting as a cross-town shuttle driver. The employee is responsible for completing all required documents pertaining to the job assigned. The employee may lift up to 50 pounds in temperatures ranging from 0° to 110°. The employee will be required to use a computerized menu driven yard management system and operate material handling equipment. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. MUST ACCEPT ALL UPGRADES, PROVIDED A QUALIFIED DISABILITY WOULD NOT KEEP THE EMPLOYEE FROM PERFORMING THE UPGRADE .

Requirements

  • Driver must have a Class A CDL with a manual transmission endorsement.
  • DOT Medical Card.
  • Two years verifiable Class A commercial driving experience.
  • Employee must disclose any history of previous CDL driving violations.
  • The employee must be able to read, write, do simple math and have ability to learn a computerized menu driven yard management system.
  • Employee must have the ability to learn multiple jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all related activities for spotting and shuttling trailers on and around the Champaign Complex.
  • Know, understand, and comply with Kraft Food’s Environmental Policy and Safety Policies
  • Reduce Kraft’s Environmental footprint.
  • Responsible for wearing proper PPE, compliance of safety training, policy & procedures and report any unsafe safety conditions to a Supervisor/Management.
  • Participate in the KHMS audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions regarding all spotting and shuttling activities.
  • Employee is responsible for assuring the equipment is in a safe operable condition and must operate the equipment in a safe manner.
  • Damage to equipment/building/inventory could amount to thousands of dollars.
