About The Position

The Promontory Jack Nicklaus Painted Valley Golf Course is a premier, high end signature golf course located in Park City, Utah, designed to deliver an exceptional playing experience with immaculate course conditions. We pride ourselves on maintaining championship-level turf quality and providing a world-class environment for our members and guests. Promontory is home to three high-end golf facilities feature the Jack Nicklaus Painted Valley course, a Pete Dye Canyon course, and a Forest Richardson 18 hole par-3 course. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spray Technician to join our agronomy team at the Jack Nicklaus Painted Valley golf course. This role is responsible for the safe and effective application of fertilizers, fungicides, and herbicides to maintain the health, playability, and aesthetics of our golf course. This is a full-time, year-round position that also includes snow removal and winter operations during the off-season.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in golf course turf applications
  • Valid pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Familiarity with spray equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred but not required
  • Experience on a high-end or championship golf course
  • Understanding of cool-season turfgrass
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment upkeep
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and other turf care products according to agronomic plans
  • Calibrate and operate spray equipment to ensure accurate application rates
  • Mix chemicals safely and in compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Monitor turf conditions and report pest, disease, and weed pressures
  • Maintain detailed application records and logs using Greenkeeper
  • Assist with integrated pest management (IPM) programs
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot spray equipment
  • Perform snow plowing and snow removal duties during winter months
  • Support daily golf course maintenance operations as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines
