About The Position

Applicant will train with experienced service technicians to learn to perform diagnostic, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer agricultural equipment with a focus in application equipment repair. Ideal candidate will have reliable attendance and a strong willingness to learn about mechanics. Applicant will work/train out of the Perry, IL location but will eventually primarily work out in the field on agriculture and application equipment in the Perry/Winchester/White Hall areas.

Requirements

Basic diesel mechanic experience along with a desire to learn about application equipment is required
Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
Ability to use computer applications
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
Valid driver’s license required along with a good driving record
Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria throughout employment
Must have reliable attendance
Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

Learns and performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment
Participates in company provided training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
Learns knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
Accounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties
