The Sr Advanced Engineering Technician will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:

Requirements

  • An Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Understands implications of work and provides applicable solutions
  • Distinct knowledge of specialized function and proficiency in application and interpretation of complex specifications, requirements, standards and practices
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
  • Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
  • Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems
  • Perform functional and verification testing of CWL electronic systems and subsystems
  • Execute established test procedures and document results accurately
  • Operate and interpret data from electronic test equipment, including: Digital and analog multimeters Oscilloscopes Power supplies Signal generators
  • Troubleshoot electronic circuits, wiring, connectors, power distribution, and control electronics to isolate failures
  • Support failure analysis and root-cause investigations in coordination with engineering teams
  • Verify hardware configuration against released electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Identify, document, and track discrepancies, anomalies, and corrective actions
  • Support regression testing after hardware or design changes
  • Maintain test setups, cables, and equipment used for CWL testing
  • Follow safety, quality, and configuration control procedures
  • Participate in technical reviews, test readiness activities, and problem-solving discussions as required
