Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years of progressive systems engineering experience with significant time in senior technical roles
  • Expert proficiency with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jira, Jama) and advanced systems modeling tools (MagicDraw, Cameo, SysML)
  • Extensive experience leading Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) implementation and transformation initiatives
  • Proven experience with large Agile or SCRUM programs with deep understanding of task planning, budgets, forecasting, and risk management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payload systems, naval systems, or complex defense applications with extensive customer-facing experience
  • Experience with systems engineering process improvement initiatives (CMMI, ISO 15288, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as principal technical authority for systems engineering on payload systems program, providing strategic direction and vision
  • Define and drive systems engineering strategy, architectural standards, and technical roadmaps that align with program and organizational goals
  • Lead requirements management ecosystem, architecture development, and innovative technical solutions that balance customer needs with business objectives
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, cyber-security, and integration teams to deliver complex system solutions
  • Lead critical design reviews, communicate technical strategies to all stakeholders including senior leadership and customers, and influence key technical decisions
  • Resolve highly complex technical issues, establish research initiatives, and champion MBSE adoption on the program
  • Mentor and develop systems engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and professional growth
  • Represent systems engineering in program reviews, customer engagements, and strategic planning sessions
  • Establish and champion systems engineering best practices, processes, standards, and toolset optimization
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to advance payload system capabilities
