About The Position

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will play a key part in transforming complex data into actionable insights to help drive business decisions. Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze trends, build reporting solutions, and provide strategic guidance based on data-driven findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Three to five years of proven experience as a business intelligence analyst, data analyst, or similar role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Strong expertise in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.), SQL, and data visualization techniques.
  • Experience in data modeling, querying large datasets, and performing complex data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills: experience with other data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage deadlines, and deliver results under pressure.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills Artistic/layout skill preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in the financial industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods or machine learning techniques for predictive analytics.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Understanding of financial services operations and information needs preferred
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and database management systems is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills Artistic/layout skill preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that influence business strategies.
  • Ability to independently analyze complex datasets within Power BI, SQL and other data sources.
  • Work with leadership to identify data needs and trends to help support the credit unions strategic vision.
  • Look for data anomalies and trends independently and bring to the attention of the VP BI to share with the executive leadership team.
  • Provide guidance on data-driven decisions and best practices for data analytics and reporting.
  • Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations and reports.
  • Responsible for data quality.
  • Collaborate with the IT and Data Engineering teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and accuracy across various data sources.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and data analysis.
  • Mentor Junior Analyst.
  • Builds Reports and other types of data analysis for business users.
  • Meets with internal line of business users to gather business requirements for data analysis and reporting.
  • With the assistance of the VP Business Intelligence, prioritizes reporting and analysis projects.
  • Creates appropriate reports and dashboard within Power BI.
  • Responsible for aggregating data from multiple KFCU systems into the data warehouse.
  • Resolves end user reporting issues through collaboration with IT and lines of business.
  • Ensures updates to systems feeding data to the warehouse are properly managed.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
