As a Sr. Camp Counselor, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and memorable camp experience by supporting daily activities and guiding children as they grow, build confidence, and form friendships. POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with YMCA Day Camp at Camp Tracy program activities as well as guiding/helping the children adjust and grow within the program guidelines.
Requirements
- 17-years-old or older
- A clean driver’s license is preferred
- Two prior years working experiences with children
- Skills that are necessary to work with groups of children made up of different ages and skill levels
- Skills or training in problem solving
- Team player
- Display role model behavior.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for a group of children, helping each child adjust and grow with other children within the program guidelines.
- Plan and implement daily curriculum for children to follow.
- Assist with all camp activities and other activities.
- Comply with and participate fully in the instruction of swimming, arts and crafts, games, various camp activities, and education programs.
- Communicate and work with all groups participating (age and skill level) and provide necessary instruction to children.
- Observe camper behavior and assess its appropriateness, enforce relevant safety regulations or emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Maintains safety, cleanliness, and discipline of children, areas, and equipment.
