Requirements

  • The position requires experience as a Case Planner in the existing department and experience in the child welfare field.
  • The Senior Case Planner must have minimum 18 months to three years’ experience in the existing department as a Case Planner and has demonstrated a strong ability to provide assistance to a fellow worker independently.
  • BA level Case Planner must have another two years of experience in the child welfare field.
  • The position requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills and demonstrated ability to teach the process tonew workers.
  • Knowledge of Connections, agency and ACS policy and procedures are required.
  • Bachelor's in Social Work, Sociology or Psychology
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution

Responsibilities

  • Act as Peer Trainer to new Case Planners to teach casework job functions and to provide program orientation.
  • Work with families to obtain accurate information needed to complete assessments; make care recommendations and identify strengths and areas in need of improvement. (This is Senior Case Planner’s caseload.)
  • Effectively manage caseload and provide regular home visits, supervise family visits and documentation in accordance with ACS/agency standards. (Senior Case Planner’s caseload)
  • Make referrals to community-based agencies for service provision to families (Senior Case Planner’s caseload)
  • Mentor new Case Planners as they adjust to the position of Case Planner and provide ongoing support, especially during the 90-day probationary period.
  • Function as Acting Supervisor as assigned
