About This Role: The Sr. Category Manager will provide daily leadership to the commodity team to ensure the development and execution of category strategies that exceed both short- and long-term targets. In this role, you own all commercial negotiations and supplier selections, while managing strategic partnerships and monitoring risk through a formal SRM process. Additionally, you will partner closely with Project and NPD teams to ensure procurement effectively supports all new product development initiatives. Job Description: Provide daily/weekly management and support to category/commodity team members while continually developing and expanding individual and team capabilities utilizing the established Managing for Daily/Continuous Improvement (MD/CI) process Align with regional and sector functional stakeholders to incorporate product and manufacturing strategies into category/commodity strategy while gaining leadership support. Lead category/commodity team members to develop and execute comprehensive. Opportunity Assessment for commodity including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, and supply market analysis. Develop Sourcing Strategy for commodity detailing projects, sourcing levers, timing, resources, and expected benefits. Accountable for execution of sourcing projects including RFx, continuous improvement, consolidation, etc. Responsible for defining negotiations strategy including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Developing and executing commodity blocking strategy Accountable for all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within commodities - exceed spend under long-term agreement and supplier rationalization targets. Accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance Partner with Regional and Sector Procurement teams to ensure delivery of productivity - lead team countermeasures aligned to commodities and regions/sector Responsible for management of strategic suppliers through formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process to improve supplier performance metrics including quality, delivery, productivity, and innovation. Engage with NPD Procurement teams to support new product development (NPD) and new technology introduction (NTI), through preferred supplier and SRM programs Accountable for monitoring supplier risk across all responsible commodities while developing and maintaining detailed mitigation plans for critical components and at-risk suppliers Accountable for team reporting and managing of category/commodity inflation, both mitigation and recovery Accountable for cashflow & spend under contract to meet annual targets. Accountable for delivering commodity productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects - responsible for supporting regional/sector countermeasures. Aggregate category/commodity playbooks across team members and present comprehensive team update during Quarterly Category/commodity Reviews (QCR)

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 7+ years experience Supply Chain or Procurement
  • 5+ years experience in Category/commodity Management
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
