A role in Corporate Compliance and Ethics means providing support and managing key compliance areas for Target including stores, distribution centers and at headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other relevant field of study and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of directly related work experience in compliance, operations or regulatory change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop program documentation, conduct gap analysis against requirements, develop and conduct training and awareness, identify controls and gaps, identify risk, process map, and establish monitoring and reporting.
  • Leads projects or work streams within projects. Can plan, execute, monitor and report progress.
  • Document process maps, develop improvement plans, and identify key controls.
  • Identification of risk, assess data to understand underlying root causes, identify improvement opportunities and measurement of effectiveness.
  • Ability to translate regulations and guidance into actionable plans, and applying discretion while working with confidential information.
  • Ability to work with peers in business areas to design and implement controls.
  • Ability to ensure appropriate monitors are in place.
  • Designs controls with business, performance and compliance in mind.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
  • Master's, JD or other advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment within the retail industry
  • Previous experience developing and overseeing sustainable compliance programs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an understanding of regulatory risks and develop and maintain appropriate policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments of existing and new business processes and work to address any areas of opportunity with our business partners.
  • Consult on new business and technology initiatives to ensure compliance requirements are accounted for through ideation, design and execution.

  • Develop training and communication plans to socialize compliance requirements with cross-functional teams and vendors; Ensure requirements are documented and resources are available to support the awareness of, and adherence to compliance guidance.
  • Coordinate process & system development and improvements to ensure timely, efficient, compliant and repeatable controls for in-store and digital sales.
  • Identify relevant metrics and control monitors to support decision-making, influence process change, and track program activities.
  • Lead aspects of regulatory change management for new Product Restriction Laws and Regulations and proactively lead other relevant compliance initiatives in response to emerging compliance or industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional partners including, but not limited to: Merchandising, Technology Product Management, Law Department, and Compliance Legal & Risk Services.
  • Contribute to and maintain a positive team culture by demonstrating behaviors consistent with Target’s values of Inclusivity, Connection and Drive.
