Brief overview of Position The Senior Credit Officer is responsible for developing credit guidelines and policies, credit underwriting, credit approval and collection processes, credit monitoring practices, and providing direction to the credit team to ensure overall quality of the Bank's loan portfolio. This position has a focus on the Real Estate line of businesses. Responsibilities To be successful in this role, the candidate must be an effective team player who is able to process large amounts of information, communicate and collaborate in a clear and concise manner, and develop innovative solutions for our clients, all while maintaining a strong and efficient attention to detail and managing multiple workstreams.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Commercial or related field
Formal Credit training or commensurate underwriting experience
Minimum of 15 years combined in real estate lending and credit roles of increasing responsibilities
Demonstrated knowledge of risks impacting the Commercial Real Estate and Homebuilding sector with prior experience as a senior credit approver in a commercial banking environment.
Deep experience expected in credit underwriting, loan structuring and portfolio risk management, with competency in both construction and term lending strategies.
Homebuilder related experience for both public and private companies and land developers.
Broad understanding of appraisal and valuation methodologies applicable for both CRE and Homebuilding.
Prior management experience required.

Nice To Haves

MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent designations preferred
Experience with financial institutions including depository and non-depository financial institutions, fund financing, and insurance is preferred
Prior experience as a commercial lender preferred
Prior experience with real estate loan workout and collection activity is preferred.
