Remote The Sr. Data Analyst Clinical is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining operational reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics that enable clinical and operational teams to monitor outcomes, utilization, quality, and execution in near real time. This role translates complex clinical and claims data into standardized, actionable reporting that supports performance management, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare analytics or clinical data analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel; experience with SAS, R, or Python preferred
  • Strong experience building dashboards and operational reporting using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
  • Experience working with healthcare claims, encounter, and/or clinical data
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Medicare Advantage or managed care experience
  • Experience developing operational metrics for clinical, quality, or utilization management teams
  • Familiarity with care management, utilization management, or clinical quality workflows
  • Experience supporting performance management, audits, or quality improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Operational Reporting & Performance Metrics Design, build, and own standardized operational reports, dashboards, and scorecards for clinical, quality, and operational teams
  • Define and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure clinical outcomes, quality, utilization, productivity, and program effectiveness
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business and clinical requirements into scalable reporting solutions
  • Ensure reporting solutions are reliable, repeatable, and aligned to operational workflows and decision-making needs
  • Dashboard Development & Data Visualization Develop intuitive, user-friendly dashboards that enable leaders and frontline teams to track performance and identify issues quickly
  • Apply best practices in data visualization to clearly communicate trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Continuously enhance dashboards based on user feedback and evolving business needs
  • Clinical, Quality & Utilization Analytics Analyze clinical, claims, and encounter data to evaluate outcomes, quality performance, and adherence to clinical standards
  • Identify variation in care, quality gaps, and utilization trends across populations, providers, and markets
  • Support performance monitoring of clinical programs, internal teams, and operational workflows
  • Advanced Analytics & Data Management Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, datasets, and analytical models using large healthcare data sources
  • Ensure data accuracy, validation, and documentation for all operational and analytical reporting
  • Support ad hoc and deep-dive analyses to explain performance trends and root causes
  • Cross-Functional Partnership Work closely with Clinical Operations, Quality, Medical Economics, and Compliance teams to align metrics with strategic and operational priorities
  • Present dashboards, insights, and recommendations to clinical and executive leadership
  • Support audits, performance reviews, and internal reporting through data-driven insights
  • Technical & Analytical Leadership Serve as a subject matter expert for clinical operational reporting and performance measurement
  • Mentor junior analysts in reporting best practices and analytical rigor
  • Contribute to analytics standards, data governance, and metric definitions
