About The Position
We’re building the next generation of Pennymac’s enterprise data platform — a modern, scalable foundation powering analytics, ML, and real-time decisioning across one of the largest mortgage and financial services ecosystems in the U.S. As a Sr. Data Platform Engineer, you’ll own the architecture and optimization of our Snowflake environment and surrounding data ecosystem. You’ll solve hard problems in data performance, orchestration, and scalability — designing systems that can handle enterprise-scale pipelines and mission-critical workloads with precision.
Requirements
- 5+ years in software/data engineering with expert-level Snowflake experience.
- Strong command of Python 3, SQL, and AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, or similar).
- Experience building enterprise-grade data platforms with CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/CDK), and version control best practices.
- You think like an architect and deliver like an engineer — practical, performance-minded, and customer-obsessed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in financial services or regulated data environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of our Snowflake data platform — from design and architecture to advanced optimization, governance, and automation.
- Build and scale high-performance data pipelines using Python, Airflow, SQL, and AWS serverless tools.
- Engineer efficient data modeling and warehousing patterns (dimensional, event-driven, real-time) to support analytics and product use cases.
- Drive DataOps maturity through CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing pipelines.
- Partner with product, data science, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-impact data solutions that move the business forward.
