About The Position

Renesas is seeking an experienced business leader to drive our GaN business unit to market leadership. The Sr. Director is a senior leader responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial success of High Voltage GaN Product Line within the GaN business unit at Renesas. The leader will oversee the development, commercialization, and profitability of the Product Line based on GaN Power discretes and ecosystem products and solutions. The role blends technical expertise, market insight and leadership to drive growth in Renesas’ core markets of Infrastructure, high-end IOT, Automotive and Industrial.

Requirements

  • MS or higher in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical and Semiconductor Engineering.
  • Minimum 15+ years of semiconductor high-tech experience in power devices along with at least 5+ years experience in GaN.
  • Direct experience with device engineering, applications, reliability and manufacturing teams and deep understanding of materials, devices and application circuits.
  • Proven problem solver, with effective management of projects/programs for new development and decision making with imperfect data. Strong communication skills to interface with diverse groups, internal (stakeholders) and external (vendors, partners, customers).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the product line’s vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Align GaN product development with market trends and customer needs.
  • Product & Technology Management: Oversee R&D and product lifecycle management.
  • Drive the engineering teams to ensure timely and cost-effective product development for HV (650V or greater) discrete GaN and IC ecosystem roadmap
  • Financial Oversight: Own the P&L (Profit & Loss) for the Product Line and meet GaN Business Unit metrics for growth and profitability.
  • Set and monitor revenue targets, margins, and investment priorities. Clearly understand secular growth trends, foundational and technical debts to drive sustainable business metrics.
  • Market & Customer Engagement: Build relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Identify new market opportunities and drive go-to-market strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams including marketing, system engineers, R&D engineers and backend/ops functions to drive maximum efficiency from owned Opex
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to unleash the full business potential of GaN Business unit – embody the spirit of OneRenesas.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
