The role will be to lead the development of AMD’s overall strategy and business plan for Cloud BU sell out focused on AMD’s large server datacenter partners worldwide. Responsibilities include short-term and long-term strategies focused on AMD’s large server datacenter partners. This individual will be responsible for setting AMD’s overall goals for datacenter business worldwide and driving alignment with executive management at AMD as well as cloud partners. This leader will oversee calling the plays to achieve AMD’s goals, both within the datacenter, and externally with customers consuming AMD products from datacenter cloud service providers. THE PERSON The ideal candidate will possess a breadth of abilities and skills, including CPU product knowledge, server architecture awareness, and a deep knowledge of the enterprise cloud journey from migration to the cloud, hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, and neoclouds. The candidate must have strong marketing and presentation abilities, solid understanding of customers’ business and decision makers, and strong persuasive collaboration skills to craft groundbreaking strategies and plans that the team can rally around. Most importantly, you are the business leader driving the strategy, setting direction, defining goals, delineating tactics, and achieving success in all facets. You are a standout colleague and be a self-starter, and capable of operating autonomously. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in the semiconductor or computing industry, at the Cloud Provider, OEM, ODM, ISV, GSI, and Technology Provider level
  • Experience in senior product management, strategy or business development roles
  • Knowledge of modern server platform architecture and datacenter infrastructure
  • Experience in cloud sales and services
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects
  • Highly results driven

Responsibilities

  • Own AMD’s Cloud BU sell out strategy as it pertains to Cloud adoption worldwide
  • Provide AMD valid proposition and enablement in the short, medium and long term.
  • Short term: drive and prioritize required cloud workload optimization and benchmark activity, including AMD Ecosystem & Software engineering team. Work with product marketing to build broad value proposition and marketing.
  • Medium term: drive joint customer development engagements, ISV partnerships, to ensure adoption of AMD solutions.
  • Long term: work with cloud customers, Product Planning, and CTO group to build sustainable HW/SW strategy and value proposition for AMD. Help assess M&A and investment opportunities.
  • Working understand key workloads being utilized by Cloud adopters such as Artificial Intelligence (Inference/Training), In-memory database applications, virtualization, etc.
  • Support sales with end customer engagements on sell-through plans toward revenue recognition
  • As needed, support pre-design win efforts and commitments, including product and marketing collateral, technical summits, and Proof-of-Concept demo’s
  • Understand the customer’s business goals and requirements; Foster relationships and handle customer expectations to ensure needs are aligned with AMD business goals
  • Be a strong advocate for the customer internally
  • Understand customer h/w and s/w requirements, configurations, applications and architect solutions accordingly
  • Maintain awareness of, and provide reports on, customer status and key issues
  • Aim for highest levels of customer engagement and happiness
