About the position

The Director of Product Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing the entire product life cycle for all products from planning to execution in support of organizational strategy and objectives. Researches and analyzes market conditions, and identifies key consumer trends and opportunities for product innovation/enhancements. Determines product features and functions, and oversees product development liaising with cross functional teams. Prepares product documents and supports sales and marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise. Uses market feedback to evaluate product functionality and drives present/future product direction.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Motion to promote and sell its products and services to individuals or other organizations, and supporting business growth by disseminating information that promotes a favorable view of the organization and its products and services.
  • Develops and implements sales strategies by identifying potential customers, managing existing customer relationships, monitoring customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
  • Directs gathering user requirements and designing product or developing enhancements, including technical design services, when appropriate.
  • Directs product packaging, sample and prototype development.
  • Researching and developing strategies to maximize product/brand appeal to target customers.
  • Monitoring product performance and directing product and/or marketing adjustments.
  • Channel marketing activities, including trade, channel and category management.
  • Digital/internet marketing activities, including e-commerce, search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, web content curation/marketing, etc.
  • Direct marketing activities, via telephone, email, digital and/or mobile communications.
  • Technical marketing activities, including those required for medical and high tech products.
  • Develops sales training, market research, pricing, sales and merchandising activities; business development activities; sales operations and administration; and developing and implementing advertising and publicity campaigns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, marketing or a related field.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of field sales plus marketing/ecommerce related experience or an equivalent combination.
