Summary: The position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Health and Safety programs for Grifols Therapeutics at the Clayton, N.C. site.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience. Experience in Biotech or Chemical industry preferred
  • Good understanding of EPA, local, state, and federal regulations and policies pertaining to biological and chemicals production
  • Proven ability to develop and document processes and to write standard operating procedures
  • Ability to review engineering drawings, process schematics, and design plans to identify environmental risks.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must possess strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the environmental implementation and training programs across diverse workplace settings operating at the site including corporate offices and GMP facility
  • Manage compliance activities associated with all applicable local, state and federal regulations related to environmental rules
  • Lead regulatory tracking system and compliance systems
  • Oversee the developing and implementing of the ISO 14001 requirements
  • Work with the water and energy reduction teams to promote an efficient use of resources
  • Lead the onsite wastewater pretreatment management and effort
  • Conduct incident investigations including root cause analysis and recommendations
  • Conduct workplace walkthroughs and inspections
  • Active member of the site Emergency Response Team
  • Conduct the environmental reviewing, revising and implementation and auditing of the site's waste reduction efforts
  • Oversee the reviewing/revising of environmental procedures and their uploading into the document control system
  • Good understanding of EPA, local, state, and federal regulations and policies pertaining to biological and chemicals production
  • Proven ability to develop and document processes and to write standard operating procedures
