About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Sr. Field Engineer to work out of Guam. The successful candidate will have proven experience providing fielding engineering, inspection, construction and technical coordination on US government building and horizontal related construction projects. Our ideal candidate will have experience being in the field during construction supporting the owner through both design-bid-build and design-build projects. This role will directly interface with the construction contractor, client, and home office engineering team to address field related questions, support construction sequencing, monitoring progress, provide inspection support, and proactively support the execution of construction. By identifying constructability and engineering related issues, resolving problems in real time, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders, the project field engineer will help reduce change orders, control costs, and facilitate efficiency in construction progress. Your Impact Provide direct engineering interface to NAVFAC DM and POWER PM, in support of the CM. Attend daily tailgate and safety briefings. Participate in Plan of the Day and Plan of the Week meetings. Attend progress/status meetings. Investigate field issues and support the identification of alternate solutions. Review contractor submittals for specification and drawing conformance. Review commissioning plan. Answer contractor RFIs during design and construction. Preparing design documents or work packages to resolve field problems as tasked/contracted. Provide onsite support with direct reach back for field problem mitigation and rapid resolution of unforeseen condition challenges. Provide engineering status reports as needed to facilitate resolution of engineering issues and support execution. Perform redline drawing reviews. Who You Are

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Structural) from an accredited university or college, or relevant.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience and demonstrated success with field engineering, construction management, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience performing field engineering or construction management for the Department of War.
  • Due to client requirements, US citizenship is required.
  • Ability to gain access to US military bases is required.
  • Ability to self-motivate with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, MS Project.
  • Familiar with Blue-Beam, AutoCAD, and project management software such as Procore a plus, but not required (candidate must be willing to learn software as applicable).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance.
  • Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with technical disciplines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work across multiple projects concurrently.
  • Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, floor plans, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules as they relate to architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, & building structures.
  • Must pass drug test, background check, and company Motor Vehicle Record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with NAVFAC Pacific and NAVFAC Marianas.
  • Prior experience working on Guam for 6+ month durations.
  • Professional Engineering registration strongly preferred.
