About The Position

UKG is looking for a self-motivated, proactive Senior Financial Analyst with a proven ability to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment to join our Product and Engineering (“P&E”) Finance organization. This position provides financial support for the Product and Engineering organizations, including Cloud Operations. This position is responsible for planning, forecasting, and ongoing reporting and analysis. The role interacts closely with various individuals on the P&E Finance team and executive management. The successful candidate possesses a broad understanding of finance and accounting concepts along with strong analytical and interpersonal skills. This person will work with all levels in the organization, and must be an excellent communicator, collaborator, and problem solver.

Requirements

  • Experience in a SaaS company supporting Engineering, Product, Cloud Infrastructure, or similar functions
  • Exposure to public and private cloud cost structures and consumption-based models (GCP/AWS)
  • Ability to think imaginatively and intuitively while quickly grasping and synthesizing new ideas
  • Detail oriented and skilled to lead in formulating key assumptions to reflect business activities most accurately
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize deliverables
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to understand business requirements and track plan changes
  • Capability to develop and understand financial models with key attention to detail
  • Understanding of accounting principles to prepare month end entries and analyze financial results, including accruals and software capitalization
  • Effective communication skills; listening, written and verbal; ability to interact with staff at all levels of the company
  • Strong systems skills; specifically experience with ERP systems and data warehousing tools, Microsoft D365 and IBM TM1 a plus
  • Advanced excel skills including strong data manipulation skills, PowerBI a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required, MBA a plus
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis and modeling, working in a technology company preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed forecasts for cloud infrastructure and engineering costs, incorporating key drivers such as usage, capacity, headcount, and project activity.
  • Build a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure cost components (e.g., public/private cloud, SaaS, developer tooling, etc) and engineering cost structures.
  • Partner with technical stakeholders to translate complex usage and operational data into financial insights.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Cloud leaders to provide end‑to‑end financial support, including budgets, forecasts, and long‑range planning.
  • Analyze monthly financial and operational results to understand their impact on the business and future forecasts
  • Prepare monthly accruals and reclasses to support month end processes and ensure accurate financial results
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and P&E leadership to synthesize information and gain alignment across the organization
  • Create and maintain internal reporting packages and presentations that illustrate a well-thought-out story that is backed by strong data points and metrics to facilitate business decision making
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models that track and analyze financial results, key metrics and their respective impact on P&E’s overall performance
  • Prepare presentations for P&E forecast reviews
  • Identify initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes, and methodologies
  • Become an expert in TM1, D365, and other key systems within UKG to accelerate the forecast timeline, enhance reporting, and increase productivity within the team
