Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved communities around the world? It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Senior Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, manufacturing and FP&A, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls. Key job responsibilities Amazon Leo seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support Leo Manufacturing Operations with focus on financial planning, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role provides strategic financial partnership to manufacturing leadership responsible for satellite production operations that fundamentally rethink the possibilities of global internet coverage. The successful candidate will need to be strategic, analytical, and have the demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a start-up like environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
  • Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse
  • CMA, or CFA
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning and the presentation of options and their implications including insights into interactions with other areas of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial forecasts for headcount, operating expenses and capital for base business activities, collaborating with manufacturing leadership on key initiatives.
  • Build and lead complex financial models and analyses that drive strategic decision-making with potential global impact, challenging business partner assumptions and influencing operational and growth decisions through data-driven recommendations.
  • Drive approval for substantial annual procurement by approving purchasing requests, evaluating initiatives, and closely collaborating with business partners.
  • Manage publication of monthly financial results, developing financial narratives for finance and manufacturing leadership on key expense and capital drivers.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on manufacturing efficiency projects, develop satellite inventory outlook, and coordinate planning processes.
  • Lead cross-functional projects from requirements through implementation to improve controllership and business performance, designing, implementing, and testing effectiveness of controls.
  • Identify and solve complex data integrity issues working across organizations.
