About The Position

The Senior Grants Compliance Associate position will: Provide high level fiscal and compliance support to the Grants Compliance Teams. Serve as content expert for faculty, investigators, and college administrators on assigned transactions/spend categories related to Sponsor Program funding. Manage a complex workload demonstrating independent decision-making and required advanced understanding of institutional and sponsor regulations. Interpret and effectively communicate highly complex sponsor guidelines. Mentor less experienced staff in guidelines review. A successful Senior Associate should have the ability to perform the following essential skills and competencies: Multi-tasking and problem-solving Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Analyze complex situations and decide appropriate steps for resolution and follow-thru. Train, guide, and mentor less experienced staff in problem solving complex issues. Possess excellent verbal, written and customer service communication skills, time management, follow-through, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Working knowledge of federal or private agency sponsors, contract/grant regulations, Ohio State University policy and procedures. Promote a culture that supports work/life balance, peer collaboration, autonomy, and supportive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with electronic research tools and financial management systems
  • Two years of experience in research administration.
  • Two years of experience reviewing financial transactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification (e.g. CRA, CFRA, CPSM).
  • 3 or more years of experience reviewing financial transactions associated with sponsor project funding.
