About The Position

I&C Design Engineer, Senior Are you an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineer looking to make a high-impact, tangible difference in a mission-critical, high-tech environment? Centrus Energy is expanding its American Centrifuge Plant (ACP) in Piketon, Ohio, to produce HALEU, which is vital for the next generation of advanced nuclear reactors. We are seeking a Senior I&C Design Engineer to own the full lifecycle of I&C deliverables, from conceptual design to commissioning in our highly regulated, safety-conscious facility. If you thrive on complex, hands-on engineering projects and want to see your designs come to life, this is the role for you. The Impact You Will Have: Drive Design Excellence: Lead the development and execution of I&C design packages for critical facility and process systems, including control panels, PLC/DCS/SCADA interfaces, and complex network integration. Define Control Strategy: Translate operational requirements into actionable control narratives, functional specifications, cause-and-effect matrices, alarm strategies, and rigorous test plans (FAT/SAT/Commissioning). Technical Documentation: Develop and manage I/O lists, wiring diagrams, interconnects, termination drawings, and instrument data sheets, ensuring complete traceability. Instrument Specification: Select and integrate field instrumentation (pressure/flow/temp/level, analyzers, control valves, VFDs) to ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and environmental compatibility. Field Support & Troubleshooting: Provide direct, hands-on support for controls implementation, including field walkdowns, loop checks, calibration, and commissioning. Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate power, grounding, and layout constraints into safe, constructable designs. Configuration Management: Maintain strict configuration control, generating accurate redlines, as-builts, and turnover documentation.
