About The Position

Lasko Products, a market leader for nearly 120 years in home comfort products, including portable fans, heaters and air purifiers, is seeking a Sr. Industrial Designer based in our West Chester, PA headquarters. As a Senior Industrial Designer, you’ll lead the design vision for new and existing products—from sketch to shelf. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to create products that are innovative, user-friendly, and aesthetically compelling. This is a hands-on role for a designer who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys owning projects end-to-end. This role will report to Director of Industrial Design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design, product design and 7+ years of professional experience
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in 2D/3D tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot, Fusion 360)
  • Strategic and tactical thinking
  • Proven track record of bringing products to market in mass production.
  • Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for consumer experiences
  • Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements with little supervision
  • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with engineers for implementation of designs
  • Self-motivated to complete all task required of the job and high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Create user-centered design concepts by considering customer and consumer feedback, metrics, and usability findings
  • Understand user needs, technical limitations, cost targets, timelines, and business objectives.
  • Ability to hand sketch concepts to communicate initial designs
  • Create detailed 3D form designs in CAD to share with mechanical engineers for component integration.
  • Working collaboratively with the mechanical engineering team to ensure product manufacturability and integrity
  • Driving design innovation, identifying and solving complex design challenges, and developing creative solutions.
  • Create user-centered design concepts by considering customer and consumer feedback, metrics, and usability findings
  • Participating in and utilizing user research, customer research, and useability studies to inform design decisions.
  • Expertise creating high quality renderings using tools such as Keyshot, Solidworks Visualize or equivalent to communicate design concepts
  • Clearly communicating design concepts and decisions to stakeholders through presentations, technical documents, and drawings.
  • Creates Manufacturing Documentation specifications: Material, Color and Finish
  • Mentoring the junior design staff and assisting them understanding our process and brand
  • Build concept and presentation prototypes as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and meet cost targets
