About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for investigating reports of internal and external theft, fraud, threats and workplace violence. Utilizes technology, analysis, field security research, interviewing and assessment techniques to protect and safeguard personnel, information and assets. Investigations are highly complex/nuanced in nature with potential large scale impact. This position will work with a team, providing expertise and resources to local law enforcement and company personnel at the involved locations nationwide. Also act in a team lead capacity, handling high level cases, mentoring junior staff and orienting/training new hires.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5 or more years experience working in the Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Incident Management, or related field
  • Understanding of Chain of Custody

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • experience in conducting in depth and complex corporate, cargo, and/or vendor investigations
  • Ability to empathize and verbally connect with people during both stressful and non-stressful situations
  • Experience in Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, Incident Management
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat DC, Microsoft Office 365, Video management systems, and a cloud-based case management system
  • Experience with CCTV video review and preservation facilitating the accurate recollection of conversations, interactions and observations
  • Knowledge of investigation methods
  • Proficient analytical skills
  • Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze cargo theft events, GPS data, CCTV video, alarm and access control systems, and interview witnesses and suspects, in response to incidents to identify behaviors, root causes, locations, potential evidence, and person(s) involved
  • Orient and train junior staff/new hires
  • Mentor others to enhance their investigative skills and/or knowledge areas
  • Compile and present case summaries and metrics
  • Utilize a structured investigative workflow and case management system to track and close investigations
  • Analyze trends and patterns from prior investigations to identify causation, mitigate loss, and change processes in order to prevent future incidents
  • Conduct investigations related to threats originating from external sources outside the company, and internal incidents and issues such as theft of customer assets, fraud, and workplace violence or threats of violence
  • Conduct interviews of victims, witnesses and persons of interest utilizing established interviewing techniques and skills specific to corporate investigations
  • Collect, document, and preserve video, still images, documents, and other materials connected to an investigation and maintain it as part of the investigation’s workflow and case adjudication process
  • Organize, prioritize, and investigate multiple incidents
