About The Position

Kyowa Kirin is a fast-growing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies state-of-the-art biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four disease areas: bone and mineral; intractable hematologic; hematology oncology; and rare disease. A Japan-based company, our goal is to translate science into smiles by delivering therapies where no adequate treatments currently exist, working from drug discovery to product development and commercialization. In North America, we are headquartered in Princeton, NJ, with offices in California, North Carolina, and Mississauga, Ontario. Summary: Collaborates with the Operations Group to oversee daily IT operations for a mid-sized research organization within a global pharmaceutical company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent required.
  • Minimum five years of experience in IT support and network administration in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Microsoft Windows, Server/network architecture, VMware.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment across different time zones. Strong desire to learn and stay current with the latest technologies. Highly motivated and great attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop consensus within a multinational organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides IT helpdesk support to employees including technical support, software installation, and training.
  • Performs hardware setup and configuration.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems of moderate complexity.
  • Works closely with other departments to proactively identify IT-related needs and plan solutions/improvements.
  • Works with external stakeholders in North America and Japan to ensure local IT systems comply with global and regional IT security and infrastructure.
  • Manage and support laboratory-related IT systems
  • Network administration including monitoring network health, data integrity, scheduling repairs & maintenance, and data backups.
  • Tracks and manages IT assets, licenses, service contracts, budgets.
  • Operates and manages audio-video equipment and video conferencing applications.
  • Stays up to date with new technologies and proactively identifies issues and opportunities to improve current IT systems.
  • Helps develop and write IT documentation and policies
