Position Summary As the Senior Manager, Medicare Reporting, you will support the Medicare management reporting process, including the consolidation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results for the Medicare segment. This role plays a key role in the preparation of consolidated Medicare financial materials during the forecasting, planning, and monthly close processes, ensuring clear communication of financial performance, membership trends, risks, and opportunities. This role will: Partner closely with Medicare Finance leadership to support reporting that communicates key financial results, membership trends, and performance drivers across the Medicare portfolio Support the development and enhancement of standardized Medicare monthly close reporting materials across Medicare products Prepare and consolidate Medicare monthly close packages, including WD6 and related executive‑level materials Support membership reporting, including analysis of enrollment trends, growth and attrition drivers, and alignment of membership assumptions with forecast and plan Coordinate with cross‑functional partners to ensure consistency between membership, revenue, and margin reporting Support the consolidation and analysis of Medicare Risks & Opportunities, ensuring alignment across products and consistency with forecast and plan assumptions Coordinate inputs from cross‑functional partners to support timely and accurate Risks & Opportunities submissions and leadership review materials Contribute to enhancements in forecast and planning materials to improve clarity, consistency, and process efficiency Coordinate and support the completion of Aetna forecasting, planning, and financial analysis materials for senior leader review during forecast and planning cycles Serve as a primary point of contact for routine forecast, planning, and financial analysis requests, escalating complex issues as appropriate Support ad hoc financial and operational analyses related to month‑end close, forecasting, and planning, including leadership inquiries, variance drivers, and emerging issues Deliver timely insights through analysis of gross margin trends, membership dynamics, and emerging risks and opportunities Provide day-to-day management, coaching, and development support for a small team of FTEs In order to be successful in this role you must exhibit the following: Strong attention to detail with demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive‑level materials. Ability to exercise sound judgment and escalate issues appropriately. Prior experience supporting forecasting, planning, and month‑end close processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of financial analysis, reporting, or FP&A experience.
  • 5+ years of healthcare insurance experience.
  • 5+ years of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • 5+ years of working proficiency with financial planning systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 5-10%, as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive‑level materials.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Prior experience supporting forecasting, planning, and month‑end close processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Medicare lines of business, including Medicare Advantage (MA), Prescription Drug (PDP), SNP, and/or Medicare Supplement.
  • Experience working in a matrixed or large enterprise environment, supporting multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior analysts or managers preferred.
  • Graduate degree, including an MBA, preferred.
