About The Position

The Senior Inventory Manager is responsible for managing the company’s inventory at a store/sku level, striving to achieve optimal stock level, allocation accuracy, and productivity for their assigned area. SIMs develop inventory, grading, and size strategies with cross functional insights from merchandising, planning, store leadership, and supply chain to drive company sales, margin, and turn targets. They are store experts and customer advocates charged with identifying localization and assortment opportunities while minimizing risk in down trending markets

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent business experience
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible assignments in relevant roles
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. SQL experience is preferred but not required.
  • Sound understanding of key performance indicators and elements that drive retail profitability and inventory productivity
  • Drive coaching and development by effectively identifying individual strengths and growth areas, designing tailored development plans, and fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Ability to provide strategic planning direction and identify opportunities and risks
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships and collaboration with cross functional partners
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, and a strong sense of urgency.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Coaches, develops, and guides Inventory Manager, global leadership, and global team of Sr. Inventory Analysts on size profile, assortment grading, allocation, and replenishment strategies to align with individual business needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring balanced SIA workload across area of responsibility, makes hiring decisions regarding Sr. Inventory Analysts, and develops succession plans for the growth of their direct and indirect reports.
  • Communicate strategies, initiatives, and updates on inventory productivity in relation to allocation, replenishment, sizing, and grading with Divisional leadership, Store RVPs, and cross functional partners.
  • Develop, lead, and execute company initiatives for their assigned areas
  • Drive inventory productivity through store analysis and action; focusing on individual store performance, seasonality, and demographics to identify opportunities, risks, and strategies that the Global Inventory Analyst Team can act on
  • Research, action, and communicate store level opportunities through partnership with store and business leadership
  • Communicate sales and inventory performance by size, grade, and demographic as well as key replenishment metrics, including, in-stock %, fill rates, and weeks of supply to divisional leadership
  • Develop an Inform Policy Strategy that aligns with Divisional inventory goals, and company in-stock expectations for total area of responsibility
  • Drive Inventory productivity by owning the replenishment justification and manual/annual optimization process for assigned area
  • Work closely with Bangalore Partners including the leadership team, Inventory Analysts, Size/Grade Analysts, and Forecast Analyst positions
  • Develop and foster cross functional relationships with Stores, Visual, Supply Chain, System Owners, Merch Operations, Assortment Planning, Merchandise Planning, Merchandising, and .com teams, helping to bring awareness, efficiencies, and improved process to Allocation, Replenishment, Sizing, and Grading.
