As the Senior Manager, Project Management, at Gilead you will be responsible for managing multiple assigned projects or programs in the Product Launch & Change Planning function within Global Clinical Supply Chain (GCSC). Project and program types include but are not limited to – new product introduction(s) into major market(s), management of alliance teams with business partners, technology/manufacturing transfers, and/or continuous improvement projects within commercial drug product manufacturing. An in depth understanding of cGMP and global regulatory requirements for drug products and/or medical devices is necessary to effectively manage the majority of assigned projects or programs.

Requirements

  • An independent self-starter with the ability to anticipate issues and identify and mitigate risks
  • Prior experience and expertise dealing with international cGMPs
  • Demonstrated capability in problem-solving, developing and monitoring comprehensive plans, as well as effectively managing uncertainty and adapting to evolving conditions or assumptions
  • Business acumen and ability to understand and manage both project costs and business benefits of assigned projects or programs
  • Expertise in domestic and international cGMPs
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to work across multi-national sites and diverse cultures
  • Familiarity with MS Project and other project management applications and tools desired
  • BA/BS with 8+ years of relevant experience in a related field or MBA/MS plus 6+ years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Prior experience should include 5+ years managing cross-functional teams and multi-site projects or programs

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing new product launches in a regulated environment (pharmaceutical or medical device) preferred
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical operations and cGMP environment(s) highly desirable
  • PMP or similar project management certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ability to organize new cross functional project teams, define objectives and scope, identify tasks and milestones, build project schedules, identify resource needs, track execution to schedule and budget, and manage risks.
  • Ability to lead functional initiatives to completion.
  • Utilize project management best practices to efficiently manage project planning and execution.
  • Support functional/program governances as required.
  • Manage project metrics and continuously improve project performance.
  • Provides leadership to the project team and functional areas to anticipate and identify moderately complex project issues which pose a challenge to achieving strategic goals.
  • Ability to analyze different components and tasks of a project and propose resolutions to problems and/or opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides clear and timely communication to project team members and stakeholders.
  • Interacts frequently with other functional areas.
  • Collaborate with functional managers to assign appropriate skillset to projects and provide performance feedback.
  • Possesses ability to manage and resolve conflict within the project team.
  • Works in partnership with project leaders to lead and ensure timely, efficient, and effective project meetings, as well as adequate progress of team activities between meetings.
  • Chairs or co-chairs project team meetings and is responsible for documenting meeting minutes as well as tracking decisions, action items, and spending.
  • Actively manage project risk activities.
