About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President, Accounting, the Senior Tax Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing our tax strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws, managing tax audits and working closely and collaboratively with Forter’s external tax advisors around the world. This is a hands-on role, interacting and collaborating with other members of the finance team, outside service providers and other departments within Forter to ensure the timely and accurate execution of tax functions. This position will sit in NY or Denver and will follow a hybrid model. Why should you join us? Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 8+ years tax experience, preferably with a combination of public accounting and multi-national corporate tax department
  • Significant experience in state and local tax, federal and International tax regulations
  • Desire and ability to perform as an individual contributor while efficiently balancing the use of external resources
  • Experience in developing and executing tax planning and risk reduction strategies
  • Ability to excel in a flexible, fast-paced work environment and possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills including partnering with international teammates

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company’s tax accounting function, including quarterly and year-end worldwide consolidated tax provisions and related disclosures while partnering with external tax advisors
  • Manage global tax filings and compliance activities, including income, transaction, personal property and other ancillary taxes
  • Managing and responding to governmental tax examinations and inquiries from tax authorities
  • Own transfer pricing process and related journal entries and maintain and update intercompany agreements as required
  • Partner with the legal team in the set up of new legal entities, including understanding operational needs and recommend proper setup for intercompany and tax purposes
  • Maintain the existing global tax calendar and ensure that all tax filing requirements are in accordance with taxing regulations around the globe.
  • Oversee calculations of Uncertain Tax Positions and related interest and support recognition and measurement of various tax positions
  • Provide tax forecasts (expense and cash impact) to the FP&A team for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
  • Monitor accounting pronouncements and tax law changes and determine the implications for the Company
  • Assist where requested with other projects which can include, for example, M&A initiatives as well as treasury support.
