The Senior Manager of US Tax Operations leads the end-to-end execution of federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting for the organization. This role oversees operational tax processes, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, drives process optimization, and partners closely with cross functional teams including Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and external advisors. The position requires deep technical tax expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex workflows in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • 8-12+ years tax experience working for a multinational company and/or accounting firm.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and complex workflows.
  • Expertise in US federal and state income tax compliance and ASC 740.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and willing to take ownership of projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project‑management skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in fast‑paced settings.
  • BS/BA degree with an emphasis on Accounting/Finance.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting/Finance/Tax

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with tax technology platforms (e.g., OneSource, Corp tax, Alteryx).
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with tax implications of M&A.
  • Experience with Longview Tax Provision.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting Direct preparation, review, and timely filing of all US federal, state, and local income tax returns.
  • Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision processes under ASC 740.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of estimated tax payments and extensions.
  • Manage tax audits and inquiries, coordinating responses and documentation.
  • Operational Leadership Lead and mentor a small team of tax professionals, providing guidance, performance management, and development opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain robust tax processes, controls, and documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation within tax operations.
  • Strategic Tax Management Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to evaluate tax impacts of business initiatives.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration, and post‑transaction compliance.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assessing implications for the company.
  • Technology & Process Optimization Oversee implementation and optimization of tax technology tools (e.g., provision software, compliance platforms, data automation).
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance to improve data quality and streamline tax data flows.
  • Champion digital transformation within the tax function.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration Serve as a key liaison between tax operations and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts to non‑tax partners in a clear, actionable way.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, advisors, and tax authorities.
