About The Position

The purpose of this position is to support the company’s payment acceptance strategy and to lead the core treasury-related activities. This role owns end-to-end oversight of payment economics, card network relationships, banking relationships, and acceptance optimization across credit, debit, and alternative payment methods. This position impacts processes across Customer Service Retail Business Unit, Legal, Marketing, and Technology teams to ensure payment strategies support growth, enhance customer experience, and optimize cost and cash flow.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required OR equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
• 10+ years of progressive relevant business experience, including finance/analysis, treasury, banking, or payment-related roles
• knowledge of managing cash flow, liquidity, and risk
• knowledge of payment instruments/systems, money markets, capital markets, and financial risk
• knowledge of financial planning, analysis and forecasting
• knowledge of large-scale eCommerce and omnichannel environments
• strong analytical, problem solving and leadership skills
• financial acumen knowledge
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• at least 20 years old with a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
• 15 years relevant business experience, including 5 years of associate supervision experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)
• prior experience in payments finance, merchant acquiring, fintech, card networks, or large-scale eCommerce / omnichannel environments
• exposure to multi-region payment acceptance strategies with direct exposure to payment acceptance economics
• experience partnering with Technology teams on payments related initiatives
• experience leading or supporting credit and debit card network negotiations
• intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint skills
• advanced Microsoft Word and Excel sk

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic payment network relationships and negotiations, overseeing pricing, incentives, compliance, and performance while leveraging financial modeling and industry insights to optimize payment economics and maximize ROI for Publix.
• Oversee payment settlement and reconciliation strategies, partner with treasury operations to improve cash conversion, and lead banking relationships to support liquidity and financial efficiency.
• Prepare executive level summaries and strategic recommendations for senior finance leadership on payment strategy and network negotiations, support audits and internal controls to mitigate risk, and partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure regulatory and network alignment.
