Developing and applying computer aided design (CAD) software engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems, the Sr Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to help our nation’s heroes make a true impact. You’ll lead or contribute as an individual technical contributor on a small design or test team. We’ll count on you to manage design tasks as principal assignment within the project. You’ll define and select new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering applications and design specifications and parameters. It’s a challenge that will put your talent in the spotlight. This position is 100% on-site in our Marion, VA facility. (Catia V5 is preferred) Strong GD&T understanding and ability to conduct tolerance stacks Drafting Standards ANSI Y14.5

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Requires 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong CAD background with knowledge of MBD practices. (Catia V5 is preferred)
  • Strong GD&T understanding and ability to conduct tolerance stacks
  • Drafting Standards ANSI Y14.5
  • Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
  • Creative thinker capable of leading a team in the preparation of project design, testing, and prototype fabrication
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
