About The Position

The primary focus of the Senior Operations Manager is to oversee business operations by providing effective methods of day-to-day operations, maintain and develop client relationships, estimate work, and recruit/develop personnel for ongoing and future projects, and act as a point of contact for other managers within the company. (Sturgeon Electric) – a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc. – has provided complex, large-scale electrical construction services for our clients throughout the western United States. As a full-service electrical provider, we offer industry leading electrical transmission, commercial and industrial, and renewable energy services. Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both powerline construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider. Sturgeon Electric’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in an Operations Manager (or similar) position within the electrical construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience (15+ years' in a leadership role within the construction or utilities industry)
  • Strong commitment to safety and the ability to develop a solid safety culture with subordinates
  • Excellent salesmanship and communication skills to include written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize

Responsibilities

  • Ensure organizational safety expectations are met by all employees
  • Monitor the financial performance and production of projects
  • Ensure contractual compliance for current and future projects
  • Develop, strengthen, and maintain long lasting client relationships
  • Pursue business growth opportunities
  • Advise staff of company policy expectations
  • Lead, direct, and audit the work of assigned staff; act as a mentor
  • Coordinate employee performance reviews
  • Facilitate and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • Salary $138,239-$160,000 / year
  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
