About The Position

As the Sr. Portfolio Manager-Space, you will be responsible for the business performance of Winchester’s most strategic, Tier 1 space customers, which account for a significant portion of the division's portfolio. This is an end-to-end leadership role, owning portfolio strategy, value proposition development, customer growth, and gross margin performance for your assigned accounts. You will operate at the intersection of product management, program leadership, and commercial strategy, serving as the business owner for the Space division. You are accountable for defining the long-term portfolio roadmap, executing pricing and margin strategy, driving profitable new program growth, and ensuring operational excellence across the program lifecycle. This is a P&L leadership role with direct impact on revenue expansion, margin improvement, and strategic customer positioning in the Space market.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business; MBA preferred
8–12+ years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, or Program Leadership
Demonstrated P&L ownership and margin accountability
Experience within Space, Aerospace & Defense, or highly regulated technical markets
Strong background in pricing strategy, quoting, and margin analysis
Experience managing large, complex Tier 1 customer relationships
Proven ability to translate strategy into measurable financial outcomes

Technical knowledge of interconnect products and complex harnesses is preferred

Responsibilities

Own full portfolio P&L performance for the Space division
Deliver year-over-year revenue growth and sustained gross margin expansion
Establish and execute pricing strategies to meet margin targets
Drive quoting strategy, ROI analysis, and business case development for NPIs
Identify margin improvement initiatives across programs and product lines
Define and execute the Space portfolio roadmap aligned to long-term growth objectives
Develop differentiated value propositions tailored to Tier 1 space customers
Translate Voice of Customer (VoC) into strategic product investments
Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform positioning and expansion
Partner with Business Development to identify whitespace opportunities
Serve as executive business owner for key Tier 1 space accounts
Oversee program lifecycle performance (NPI through production)
Ensure alignment of delivery, quality (FPY), and On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets
Drive customer satisfaction and strategic account expansion
Lead cross-functional resolution of performance or margin gaps
Champion innovation and portfolio expansion initiatives
Align engineering, operations, and sales around successful NPI launches
Validate financial justification and ensure target return thresholds are achieved
Integrate validated market feedback into future roadmap planning
Act as the central bridge across engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and sales
Track execution against strategic business plans and close performance gaps
Foster accountability and alignment across teams to deliver profitable growth
