Senior Project Manager Healthcare Location: Phoenix, AZ Industry: Commercial General Contractor Healthcare Project Size: $25M-$150M Lead Complex Healthcare Builds Where Precision Matters GCON is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex healthcare construction projects that directly support patient care and critical community infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in technically complex, fast-paced environments and understands the critical importance of safety, infection control, and uninterrupted hospital operations. This is not a standard ground-up commercial build. This is healthcare construction where precision, coordination, and leadership directly impact patient safety. Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive healthcare commercial construction experience & strong industry connections. (clients/A/E, vendors, etc.)
  • Proven success delivering healthcare projects valued at >$25M
  • Experience managing complex phasing within occupied hospital environments
  • Strong executive presence and ability to lead high-stakes client relationships
  • Deep understanding of healthcare compliance, infection control, and life safety requirements
  • Bachelors degree preferred (Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field)

Nice To Haves

  • CCM, PMP, or DBIA certifications a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive level relationship building and leadership for healthcare projects from preconstruction through turnover
  • Drive strategic planning, budgeting, and risk mitigation on projects ranging >25M+
  • Lead GMP development, value engineering, and subcontractor procurement
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building upon already established long-term relationships with healthcare executives and design partners
  • Oversee financial performance, forecasting accuracy, and cost control
  • Manage change strategy and complex contract negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with FGI, Joint Commission, NFPA, IBC, and state healthcare regulations
  • Lead ICRA 2.0 planning and execution in active hospital environments
  • Mentor and develop high-performing project teams (APMs, PEs, Superintendent
