Incumbents are responsible for the most complex commercial or residential appraisals. Duties include appraising complex commercial properties; measuring and listing large commercial, multi-family and complex residential properties; defending ad valorem values before the Board and some cases to the NC Property Tax Commission; establishing property grades and characteristics for revaluation; assisting with cost, market and income studies for revaluation; and assisting in training and providing guidance to staff. Incumbents are required to fully understand, interpret and apply appraisal rules and regulations.
