About The Position

Who we are looking for: The Manager Workbench Team, a premier team in the Charles River Investment Management System, is seeking a talented senior level software engineer. We are a close-nit group of developers, QA and product managers who take extreme pride in our work and are dedicated to the excellence of the module we maintain and enhance. Even though Manager Workbench is a UI application, the majority of our effort is devoted to heavily abstracted logic. Our module has been recently rearchitected and its foundation is based on well designed and implemented code. Our primary technology is C#, some Java, and some SQL. We are looking for someone who likes to create elegant solutions executed in computer code. You candidacy will be greatly aided if you can present and discuss the code of some project that you have worked on in the past during the interview process. Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience in C# used to create complex applications that utilize concurrency, multithreading and other advanced techniques.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and developing software solutions in a highly transactional, concurrent, event driven system.
  • Extensive experience in RDBMS (Oracle and SQL Server) with a solid understanding of the transactional database intricacies and expertise in writing complex and high performing SQLs.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, design patterns.
  • Solid ability to write clean , maintainable code with extensive code coverage via unit tests.
  • Able to contribute to complex design specs in consultation with senior staff
  • Able to work on medium to large projects with no supervision and on more complex tasks with minimal oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment
  • Great understanding of Agile development methodology and software development practices and principles.
  • B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study required.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial Trading systems experience is a huge plus.
  • UI development experience in C# is preferred.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting and fixing database and application performance issues is preferred
  • MS degree strongly preferred.
