Sr Software Engineer
About The Position
The Disney Experiences Technology (DXT) team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app and Hey, Disney! We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney! This role sits in the DCL Web Commerce organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Product Managers and Quality Assurance Engineers from across the company. The Senior Software Engineer will report to the Technology Manager. About The Role & Team Role will be developing features for the https://disneycruise.disney.go.com website Team is 10 developers in size Agile process is used, with embedded product and test engineers
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment
- Proficiency in Java, SpringBoot, NestJS, NodeJS, Amazon Web Services, Redis with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies
- Bachelor's or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Java, Angular and Redis
- Experience with pull request reviews and approvals
- Ability to complete development tasks with minimum oversight.
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
- Amazon Web Services or equivalent cloud infrastructure experience
Responsibilities
- May lead small projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs
- Responsible for performing testing and debugging of applications
- Code may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platforms
- Code at the component level
- Work typically involves large or highly sophisticated software programs and systems
- Possess a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and completing programming tasks
- Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
- Conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications
- Design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications
- You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies
