A Day in the Life Day in the Life • Tests the functionality and performance of medical device software systems and software applications. • Develops and executes test plans and scripts designed to detect problems in medical device software systems and software applications. • Develop automation scripts using tools such as Python and other scripting languages • Support the development of system and software requirements • Create test plans, test protocols, and test reports used for regulatory submissions. • Execute test protocols for medical devices software systems • Ensures medical device software systems and software applications meet technical and functional requirements. • Performs workflow analysis, documents test results and recommends quality improvements. • Works with development to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models. • Reviews test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies. • Conduct tool validation activities • Manages completion of own work assignments and coordinates work with others • Additional duties as assigned Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills. Coaches and reviews the work of lower level specialists; may manage projects / processes. Organizational Impact: May be responsible for entire projects or processes within job area. Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, and may require understanding of multiple issues, job areas or specialties. May manage projects, requiring delegation of work and review of others' work product.

Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.

  • Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industries
  • Experience with test case management software tools
  • Experience with scripting software (Python or similar)
  • Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS, etc…)
  • Experience with developing and maintaining automated testing systems
