Sr. Solutions Specialist: Job Duties: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more Database and Application Technologies (Oracle, SQL, DB2, SAP, for example), providing on-site and remote pre-sales guidance and support during sales campaigns and meetings with customers. Act as an advisor to the account teams to help effect technical closure during campaigns, including assisting with RFI/RFPs, leading the database and/or application sections of POCs (proof of concepts) and targeted demos of product functionality, and providing input on business-case/ROI documents as it relates to Database and Application protection. Develop and maintain an appropriate depth of hands-on technical ability with the core and role-related aspects of Commvault's software and SaaS suite, including developing, documenting, and teaching reference architectures and best practices documentation pertaining to scale and functionality. Act as a technical binding agent between Sales/SE operations, Product Management, Engineering/Development, and Professional Services/Customer Success teams, sharing information, seeking feature clarification or development, designing, documenting, and preparing solutions for deployment, performing pre-sales architecture reviews, and maintaining good working relationships with these internal teams. Develop competitive knowledge, leverage it in sales campaigns, and share it with appropriate internal teams. Serve as a mentor to peers and field systems engineers on technical topics. Contribute collateral and lend expertise to the development of training materials. Identify (based upon interviews/consultations, system analysis and discovery, troubleshooting, system design, and problem-solving methodologies) the scope, requirements, and needs of customers, and develop and document highly available and sustainable service architectures that meet those needs.
