About The Position

This position is for an upper-level Manufacturing Engineer who has demonstrated successful improvements in production processes or procedures resulting in enhanced performance, reduced cost, or expedited scheduling of production. The candidate should have proven experience with detailed and labor-intensive manufacturing processes with the associated documentation required and project management skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Manufacturing Engineer experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related Manufacturing Engineer experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related Manufacturing Engineer experience.
  • Experience working with government contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with undersea acoustic sensors and systems.
  • Experience with fiber optics and high-power cabled systems.
  • Program management experience and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with creating and modifying Work Instructions, Routers, etc. associated with Manufacturing Processes.
  • Experience in setting up and modifying ERP systems (Item Master) associated with the manufacturing build processes.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, critical path management.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains production build documents including but not limited to work instructions, routers, and work order notes.
  • Assesses production risks and issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity and quality goals and objectives.
  • Recommends enhancements to work centers and processes.
  • Ensures manufacturing processes are followed on projects.
  • Communicate with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
  • May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.
  • Presents project progress and status to technical teams.
  • Ensures all technical performance, cost, and schedule goals on the program are met.
  • May be responsible for entire projects or processes within a job area.
  • Commands basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that is cooperative and supportive of customers, co-workers and managers.
  • Travel up to 10% approximately.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET DOD Security Clearance.
