About The Position

As a full time, nonexempt Specialty Pharmacy Technician with CPS Solutions, LLC Patient Care Services in Naperville, IL, you will be a vital team member directly influencing quality patient care. In this role, you will work in a casual low stress, office/call center setting, with your own individual work station. Say goodbye to standing on your feet all day, working the drive up window and ringing up the cash register. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist internal and external customers with ensuring financial and clinical requirements are met prior to safe fulfillment of specialty medications. This allows you to provide exceptional customer service and share your expertise with patients, providers, or payers regarding specialty pharmacy enrollment, benefits inquiries, prior authorizations, appeals, financial assistance, foundation support, prescription status inquiries, and other areas that pertain to their account. Our Specialty Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for answering incoming calls and completing outbound calls with patients, providers, pharmacists, foundations, payers, and others under the supervision of the pharmacist. Schedule: This position is scheduled to work full time, 40 hours per week, 8 hour day shifts, primarily Monday through Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. 8:30 AM- 5 PM. Occasionally you may be asked to work an evening or weekend shift based upon business needs. About the Facility: The Patient Care Service Center is part of our expanding CPS Specialty & Ambulatory Division which is located in our Naperville, IL offices and provides specialty pharmacy support to our clients and patients. The operation is located in a high-security, modern office building with many amenities including an onsite cafeteria, parking, and complimentary beverages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active IL pharmacy technician license
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPhT)

Nice To Haves

  • Solid customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand payer processes and specialty drug requirements

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients, providers, insurance companies, and pharmacy staff regarding prescription fulfillment and account inquiries
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations
  • Resolve or escalate issues related to billing or clinical concerns
  • Collect co-payments and assist patients with financial support programs
  • Prepare medications for shipment and assist with packaging
  • Maintain workstation supplies and cleanliness
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and staff committees as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
