About The Position

Quality Management Sr. Supervisor leads, directs and reviews the work of direct report(s) to maintain workflow and productivity and ensure weekly objectives are achieved. Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for own organization. Explains and interprets policies, practices and procedures of the job area to others within the organization. Communicates with contacts within and outside of own team which may include customers or vendors. Makes basic adjustments to systems and processes to solve problems. Works to achieve operational targets that impact department results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Quality experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Quality experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related Quality experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively establish positive working relationships with various operational groups, all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Exposure to product development in a multi-functional team environment is desired.
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, leadership, and measurement of total quality management programs and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Leads projects, provides training, logistical and infrastructural assistance for quality initiatives. Ensures internal, customer, regulatory and 3rd party requirements are defined, measured, and continuously improved.
  • Leads root cause and corrective action to address product and process non-conformances and compliance gaps.
  • Drives early cross functional engagement initiatives to ensure quality is built into the design and processes. Is responsible for developing and implementing inspection planning, testing and evaluation methods to verify product repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Develops budget, monitors expenditures and leads a Quality team or department which may comprise Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Control, and/or Operational Excellence.
  • May lead certain program/projects as lead quality engineer
  • May oversee program/project execution through review of proposals and completion of gate reviews. Supervises individual(s) typically consisting of support level employees.
  • Provides day-to-day work direction for direct report(s), focuses on maintaining steady workflow and productivity and resolving operational decisions.
  • Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and/or compensation decisions for direct report(s).
  • Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team with moderate impact on the achievement of department results. Assigns tasks, peer reviews and provides training.
  • May require up to 20% travel
